Irish Argyle Inspired Nail Art

For once I'm actually early for a holiday, St. Patrick's Day that is. Ok, so I didn't have festive in mind when creating this nail art look but I knew I wanted to do something with irish colors. Though I'm trying to convince myself that for once I was on top of holiday nail art.

Anyways, this look is primarily argyle inspired. It's not directly copied from an argyle pattern but rather a diamond shape pattern in altering colors. The diamonds aren't exactly perfect but I'm happy with the way it turned out. I started with a base of CND Green Scene, a gorgeous mid toned green requiring one coat for opacity. Then I added diamonds with the used of China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway with gold accents from Essie Gold as it Gets from the new Luxeffects collection.

Neon triangles nail art

I love experimenting with geometric and pop art elements on my canvas of choice, my nails.

For this manicure, I started with a base of Color Club Edie, a neon green. Next triangles were created using a white polish to make sure the layered neon colors popped. The triangles were outlined with a black striper. Warning, neon colors and my camera do not get along together well.

NY Giants Superbowl Manicure

If you use blogger do you ever face problems with its format? For some reason unknown to me my last uploaded photos would not show up when I added an image. That may sound like a lame attempt at an excuse but seriously I'm not lying. I tried to have this up before the game started. Magically today the problem seemed fixed and I was able to obtain these photos for the post. Sometimes I just don't get technology.

Anyways, did you watch the Superbowl? I sure did! I've been rooting for the NY Giants throughout the season and was ecstatic when they got through the regular season, the playoffs, and then finished off with a win at the Superbowl!

Whenever a big sports game comes around I love coordinating my manicure to the event. So for the
G-Men I created a manicure with a blue metallic base (Sally Hansen Blue It) adding red tips with OPI Animal-istic and using a white striper to outline the tips. I created the NY Giants logo on my middle finger. The football image on my ring finger was created using SpaRitual Howl, one of my only brown polishes. I would love to know your favorite brown polishes as my collection is lacking in that particular color department.

Luckily the Giants won since I may have looked like a fool sporting Giants themed nails the next day.
All photos are with natural lighting.

Did you catch the Super Bowl game? Perhaps for the commercials? Can't believe the season is over!
